King Crab Trips Every Tuesday in Winter

From December 2024 to March 2025, Kukkola Tilausliikenne will organise king crab trips to Kirkenes every Tuesday. The trip will depart from Saariselkä early in the morning and customers will be picked up from Ivalo and Inari, where we will also enjoy a hearty breakfast to get the day off to an energetic start. This trip is guaranteed.

A Unique Experience in a Unique Landscape

Kirkenes is a small town located in the easternmost corner of northern Norway.

There we will participate in a crayfish experience on board a snowmobile-driven sleigh.

Warm winter suits and other equipment are available at the starting point. The catch will be prepared for lunch at the Kirkenes Snowhotel and served with white bread, of course. On the way home, we will enjoy some sauteed Reindeer soup at the traditional Sevetin baari by Lake Sevettijärvi before returning to Inari, Ivalo and finally Saariselkä. We arrive at around 7pm.

Attention! Minimum age 7 years.

Popular Arctic Ocean Tour
– The Fabulous Bygøynes

The KukkolanBussit Arctic Ocean Tour is an unforgettable full day trip to the Arctic Ocean in northern Norway. We set off in the morning from Saariselkä, from where we travel via Ivalo and Inari to Kaamanen and on to Lake Sevettijärvi. We will stop at the Sevetinbaari café or the restaurant in Sanila to enjoy a coffee and a cold-smoked reindeer sandwitch. We continue our journey across the border to Neiden in Norway and on to Bygøynes.

Bygøynes

Bygøynes is a small, charming fishing village on the shores of Arctic Ocean , surrounded by the Varanger fjord. Most of the villagers are descendants of Finnish immigrants, and the village still speaks Kveen, a dialect of Finnish.

The village is small, with only 170 inhabitants. There, on the edge of the world, the landscape is Arctic and the vegetation sparse, but the place is still fabulously beautiful and special.

There’s Plenty to See and Do on the Way Home

The way home from Bygøynes takes you first to Nuorgam for a delicious salmon soup lunch and then via Utsjoki back to Kaamanen and the Four Winds Hut, where you can go over all your experience by a cup of coffee.
